DTC SUMMARY MALFUNCTION DESCRIPTION This DTC indicates that magnetic force deterioration of the permanent magnet located in the rotor inside the generator (MG1) has been detected. The cause of this malfunction may be one of the following:

MONITOR DESCRIPTION The motor generator control ECU monitors the generator. If the motor generator control ECU detects a reduction in the magnetic force of the generator or an inphase short, it interprets this as a generator malfunction and the motor generator control ECU will illuminate the MIL and store a DTC. NOTICE: After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal notices before proceeding with work. Click here PROCEDURE
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3. (b) Turn the power switch on (IG). (c) Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control and Motor Generator / Trouble Codes. (d) Check for DTCs. Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Trouble Codes Powertrain > Motor Generator > Trouble Codes
HINT:
(e) Turn the power switch off.
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3. (b) Turn the power switch on (IG). (c) Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Motor Generator / Utility / Diagnosis Related Information. Powertrain > Motor Generator > Utility
(d) Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Motor Generator / Trouble Codes. Powertrain > Motor Generator > Trouble Codes(e) Read the diagnosis related information and freeze frame data of DTC P0A9200.
(f) Turn the power switch off.
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3. (b) Clear the DTCs. Powertrain > Motor Generator > Clear DTCs(c) Turn the power switch on (READY) with the shift lever in P. (d) Turn the air conditioning system on and wait for 1 minute with the engine stopped. HINT: If the engine starts before 1 minute has elapsed, wait until it stops and then perform this step again. (e) Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Motor Generator / Trouble Codes. (f) Check for DTCs. Powertrain > Motor Generator > Trouble Codes
(g) Turn the power switch off.
(a) Ensure the safety of the areas in front and at the back of the vehicle. (b) Apply the parking brake and secure the wheels using chocks. (c) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3. (d) Clear the DTCs. Powertrain > Motor Generator > Clear DTCs(e) Turn the power switch on (READY). (f) Depress the brake pedal firmly with your left foot. (g) Move the shift lever in D. (h) Depress the brake pedal firmly with your left foot and fully depress the accelerator pedal for 5 seconds, and then release it. CAUTION: Make sure to fully apply the parking brake and firmly depress the brake pedal to prevent the vehicle from moving. (i) Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Motor Generator / Trouble Codes. (j) Check for DTCs. Powertrain > Motor Generator > Trouble Codes
(k) Turn the power switch off.
