DESCRIPTION

  • The steering pad switch assembly outputs the on/off signal and various control signals to the ECM.
  • The ECM performs cruise control according to the signals received from the steering pad switch assembly.

PROCEDURE

1.

READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

Cruise Control Main Switch

CANCEL Switch

(b) Turn the engine switch on (IG).

(c) Turn the Techstream on.

(d) Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Radar Cruise 1 / Data List.

(e) Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

INSPECT STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the steering pad switch assembly.

REPLACE STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY

INSPECT SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the spiral cable sub-assembly.

(b) Inspect the spiral cable sub-assembly.

REPLACE SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY

OK

4.

CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY - ECM AND BODY GROUND)

(a) Disconnect the G17 spiral cable sub-assembly connector.

(b) Disconnect the A18 ECM connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

(d) Connect the A18 ECM connector.

(e) Connect the G17 spiral cable sub-assembly connector.
