Toyota Avalon (XX50) 2019-2022 Service & Repair Manual: Backup Battery Degradation (B15EC)

DESCRIPTION

This DTC is set when the DCM (Telematics Transceiver) detects either of the following conditions.

  • The BUB (Back-Up Battery) charge level becomes less than the criteria.
  • The BUB (Back-up Battery) was used for Automatic Collision Notification (ACN).

When this DTC is set, the BUB (Back-Up Battery) must be replaced.

BUB (Back-Up Battery) degradation DTC B15EC is not reported in deactive mode.

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

NOTICE:

  • If this DTC is set, be certain to replace the BUB (Back-Up Battery) with a new one.
  • After the BUB (Back-Up Battery) is replaced, it is necessary to clear this DTC.
  • The BUB (Back-Up Battery) must not be replaced while an ACN call is in progress.

Before performing this diagnostic procedure, make sure to perform Health Check and confirm that the DCM/VIN registration information is correct.

PROCEDURE

1.

CHECK DTC

(a) Turn the engine switch off.

(b) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(c) Turn the engine switch on (IG) and wait for 10 seconds.

(d) Turn the Techstream on.

(e) Clear the DTCs.

Body Electrical > Telematics > Clear DTCs

(f) Recheck for DTCs.

Body Electrical > Telematics > Trouble Codes
